Speaking of
Beyond Tomorrow, the other night they did a story on the
Burj Dubai being built, and also mentioned the proposed
Sky City 1000 in Tokyo.
This reminded me of
Arcologies in Sim City, and I wanted to do some further research. Apparently there are quite a number of proposed buildings like this, and it may not be too far in the future when we see them.
I came across
this site, which lists the proposed tallest buildings in Tokyo, as well as some other famous buildings there.
The
X-Seed 4000 is visioned at 4km high (taller than Mt Fuji), with 800 floors, and designed for up to 1,000,000 people to live/work in. Although, IMHO, this is simply unachievable, they have completely designed this. Can you imagine the work that has gone into this plan!?
We've all said it, and it's time to say it again - those crazy Japanese have done it again!
