I'm not often linkpimpin', but
read all about it folks! Google talk can now talk to other jabber servers. This pretty much means people can either connect to open jabber servers (which I already do) and still talk to people on google talk. It also means you can run your own jabber server on some domain (say, example.com) and people will be able to contact you on that domain (eg: someone@example.com) from Google talk. I'd recommend everyone moving to google talk ASAP. Why people don't use it already is beyond me.
I'm hoping someone, somewhere has open transports, so I can use Google talk to talk to people on ICQ, MSN, etc.
