Yesterday I checked my Gmail account for some reason and found that someone had replied to an old post of Sunny’s entitled High On Christianity.
Among the gratuitous spelling errors, jumble of loosely related words and ideas I managed to get lost more than a few times attempting to read their post. I’m yet to with any sort of confidence actually work out even a single point presented. Is there anyone out there who can translate for me?

Then I see people like the guy who posted those comments, and realise that it’s not a belief in god that brings out the best in people. The commenter’s nonsensical, badly thought out writing paints a very negative picture of his religion. I think that says more than the text of his comment ever could.

I should premise this point with the fact that I couldn’t make much sense of this guys comments either, but people who are fanatical about a certain religion (and this guy seemed like a perfect example) are never the people you should rely on as “representatives” (so to speak).
Fanatical Christians are just as bad as, say for example, fanatical Muslims. Often nonsensical, I imagine fanatics would be very hard to get along with, and you’ve got buckley’s chance of being able to reason with them.
Having said this, I certainly wouldn’t consider myself a good example to use, although I am probably typical. Let me explain – I make a lot of mistakes (moral ones I mean), I don’t go to Church, I don’t read the bible, I don’t live my life and treat others the way I probably should, I’m mean, selfish, and uncaring sometimes, but I am regretful though. But then again, I am probably typical of a Christian nowadays. (However, when I have gone to Church, which is very rare – possibly once a year, I find myself enjoying it. Odd.)
Truth be told (rather, IMHO), the whole basis of Christianity is to be “alike Christ”. And I treat this in a very non-confronting and simple way; simply to live your life like someone that you imagine has high moral and ethical values would. This doesn’t even have to be religious based, although I do choose to have a faith in the supernatural.
Nathan said {{count}} days later:I agree with Tim. Although The Bible goes into great depth on a variety of topics, Jesus’s message to mankind can be summed up as “Be excellent to each another”.

I have been through this particular comment a number of times and end up in the same conundrum… I can’t make any sense out of it, which is a shame because the writer is obviously quite passionate on making a point.
